The Laboratory of Biochemistry and Cellular Signaling at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (LaBioSignal/UFSC) is coordinated by Professor Dr. Ariane Zamoner Pacheco de Souza, from the Department of Biochemistry (BQA/CCB), accredited in the Graduate Course of Pharmacy (PGFAR/UFSC) and Biochemistry Graduate Course (PPGBQA/UFSC). LaBioSignal is located in room 109, ground floor, block G of the Department of Biochemistry/CCB/UFSC.
The lab’s mission extends to develop research projects and train human resources in the field of Biochemistry and Cellular Signaling exploring the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the action of hormones, natural compounds, and toxic substances in studies in cell-based systems, animal models and/or in silico approaches. The LaBioSignal investigates how different substances and impact cellular redox system, metabolism and signaling pathways with a special emphasis on the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) paradigm. This approach underscores the lab’s commitment to understanding how early life exposures influence health and disease outcomes across the lifespan.
